AI customer support assistant
An assistant that answers from a company's own knowledge base, with sources and suggested follow-ups.
Overview
Most support questions are answered somewhere in the help centre already; customers just cannot find the right page. This concept answers in plain language using only the company's own documents, and shows which articles it used so answers can be trusted and checked.
The problem it explores
Support teams answer the same questions every day, while the answers already exist in company documentation.
Design decisions
Answers come from your documents only
The assistant retrieves relevant articles first and answers from them. If nothing relevant exists it says so, instead of guessing.
Sources are always visible
Each answer points to the knowledge-base articles behind it, so agents and customers can verify and read further.
Hand-off is part of the design
Suggested follow-ups keep conversations moving, and the knowledge-base panel lets a human step in with the same context.
What the concept includes
- Conversational answers with numbered steps
- Knowledge-base panel with recently updated articles
- Suggested follow-up questions
- Feedback controls on every answer
- Conversation search and management views
Under the hood
Documents are chunked and embedded into a vector store. At question time the system retrieves the most relevant passages and passes them to the model through LangChain. The Next.js interface streams the answer while a Python service handles retrieval.
